Australian Mike Harwood a PGA tour Winner in his day stamped his class on the Senior tour and marched away from the rest of his field with another sterling performance. Mike followed up his first round with another 5 under par final round to Win the 36 hole SriLankan Masters 2012 on10 under par, seven strokes clear of Noppajak Meesom from Thailand who was 4 under par in the final round moving up the ladder and past his compatriot Jamnian Chitprasong who was in second place overnight. Ahmed Bateman from Canada was consistent with another 2 under par round to share joint 2nd place with Nopajak Meesom.

SriLankan would operate daily flights to all its destinations.
Nishantha Wickremesinghe, Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, told the Business Times that they carry out route planning between the two carriers both SriLankan & Mihin Lanka, together in order to avoid both flying to the same destination. He noted that Mihin Lanka would be flying to more low cost destinations and in this respect had selected to touchdown at Jakarta, Dhaka, Buddhagaya, Varnasi, Manila and Sharjah. The budget carrier that was previously operating to Kuwait would be pulling out of this route in a bid to allow SriLankan Airlines to fly in and as a result its shift to Sharjah.

SriLankan contracts Lufthansa Technik for component services
SriLankan Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have signed a five-year component supply contract for the carrier's Airbus A320 fleet.
Lufthansa Technik said spare parts will be supplied to the airline's home base at Bandaranaike international airport in Colombo, where the main base stock of certain aircraft-on-ground (AOG) relevant components is also being kept.

SriLankan gets contract to service IndiGo's aircraft for the fourth consecutive year
SriLankan Airlines Engineering has secured its largest contract this year to conduct maintenance checks for an Indian airline.
IndiGo, India's budget carrier with a fleet of 48 Airbus A320 airliners has awarded the contract to SriLankan Engineering to conduct C-checks on 26 Airbus A320 through 2012.
This is the fourth consecutive year IndiGo has outsourced to SriLankan and this year's contract is the largest overseas outsourcing of maintenance, repair and overhaul work by an Indian carrier.

Over 60 senior professional golfers from across the globe will fly into Sri Lanka, to participate in the country's first top-level championship tour organised by SriLankan Airlines.

Check in time changes at UL counters for the convenience of our customers
In a move to ensure a swift and smooth check in for passengers, all SriLankan Airlines economy class check in counters will close 60 minutes before scheduled time of departure, from February 1st, 2012.
